Your information, explained

Privacy deserves a clear explanation.

Your research can contain personal details and sensitive work. This policy explains the information involved in a request, why it is needed, and how to contact us about it.

What this policy covers

This policy concerns information provided to DissertationAssist through website forms, account use, order discussions, uploaded documents and support communications. It explains how those details relate to the academic support you request. Our Terms & Conditions describe service responsibilities, while the Cancellation & Refund Policy explains how service concerns are reviewed.

For questions about this policy, contact support@dissertationassist.com. Tell us whether your question relates to an enquiry, an order, an account or a particular document. You do not need to send the entire document again just to ask how information connected with it is handled.

Information you may provide

The details involved depend on how you use the service. An initial enquiry generally needs contact details and a description of the help you want. An order may also involve your instructions, deadline and supporting files. Account and support records help connect those communications with the correct request.

How information supports your request

We use relevant information to understand your requirements, respond to questions, discuss the available support, manage a request and review issues you raise. Contact details are also used for confirmations and service messages, including communications about submitted enquiries and order requests.

Documents and instructions help the team work with the correct brief. References and correspondence help identify what was requested and what was agreed. A phone number should help us contact you about the service; it should not be used as a reason to ask you for passwords, one-time banking codes or unrelated personal records.

If you believe a detail in a confirmation is incorrect, ask support to correct the record. Include enough information to identify the request without resending material that is not needed.

Research documents and sensitive details

Before uploading a file, check whether it contains information about another person or organisation. Examples include interview names, participant contact details, unpublished employer records and identifying information in comments or tracked changes. Share such information only where you have the necessary permission and it is relevant to the support requested.

Use anonymised or redacted material where possible. Remove passwords, full card details and security codes. If support needs clarification, you can often provide an excerpt or an explanation rather than a complete confidential record.

Let us know promptly if you upload the wrong file or accidentally include unnecessary personal information. Identify the request and filename so the team can review the issue without confusion.

Access and service providers

Information associated with your request should be used for the service and accessed by people who need it to handle that work. Website hosting, email delivery and other operational providers may process information needed to run the service. Where a payment provider is involved, its handling of payment information is also governed by its own terms and privacy notice.

Our policy treats customer information as confidential and excludes its sale or unrelated sharing for third-party marketing. Information may also need to be disclosed where a lawful requirement applies or where it is necessary to investigate misuse and protect legitimate rights or safety.

If you have a question about a provider or the handling of a particular file, contact support. You can ask which operational providers are involved in handling your particular request.

Cookies and browser settings

Cookies and related browser functions can support essential website features, such as maintaining a session and remembering choices. Your browser lets you review stored cookies, delete them or restrict future use. Blocking essential cookies may affect sign-in or form behaviour, so check your settings if an expected function stops working.

Pages can also load resources from other providers. For example, the Poppins font used in this website is requested from Google Fonts. Loading a third-party resource can involve technical information needed to return that resource, such as a network address and browser request details.

Advertising or analytics services, if used on a page, can have additional notices and controls. Review the information presented with those services and their privacy settings. A browser setting alone may not control every form of information collected through a service request.

Service messages and other communications

We may contact you to confirm a request, ask about missing instructions, discuss delivery or respond to a concern. These communications are connected with the service you have asked us to provide. Keep an accessible email address in your request and tell support if it changes.

If you choose to receive promotional communications, you can ask to stop receiving them. Use any available unsubscribe option or write to support with the address you want removed. A request to stop promotional messages does not prevent communications necessary to deal with an existing service issue.

Be cautious about unexpected messages asking for passwords or banking codes. If a message appears unusual, contact support directly instead of replying with sensitive details.

How long information is needed

The information needed to answer a new enquiry may differ from the records needed for an active order, a payment question or an unresolved complaint. Retention should reflect those purposes and any legal or administrative requirements that apply.

You can ask support what information is held in relation to your request and why it is still needed. Where you ask for deletion, we consider your request alongside any continuing service, transaction, dispute or legal record requirements. Ask about the relevant documents and correspondence as well as the account itself.

Your questions, corrections and requests

You can contact us to ask about information linked to you, correct inaccurate details, request deletion where appropriate, or raise a concern about its use. Depending on the applicable law and circumstances, additional privacy rights may be available. We may need to verify your identity before releasing or changing information associated with an account or order.

Send the request from the email address associated with the service when possible. Include the enquiry or order reference, explain the information involved and say what you would like us to review. Avoid sending identity documents unless they are specifically needed and an appropriate way to provide them has been agreed.

Children, external links and policy updates

Our service terms require users to be older than 13, and the service is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information without appropriate permission, contact support so the situation can be reviewed.

External websites have their own privacy policies. We cannot decide how those providers handle information you give them, so review their notices before using their services. We may update this policy as our arrangements change; revisit it when starting a new request.

To report a privacy or security concern, send the relevant reference and a concise description to support@dissertationassist.com. Do not include passwords or full payment credentials in that message.
